Heber City Resident Jaime Fornetti Inducted into Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame
Albion, MI (11/02/2026) — Albion College is pleased to congratulate Heber City resident Jaime Fornetti, inducted earlier this month into the College's Athletic Halol of Fame. A member of the Class of 2006, Fornetti graduated from Albion with a degree in biology, a neuroscience concentration, and Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Fornetti was Albion's first women's basketball player named Defensive MVP for the Michigan Inercollegiate Athletic Association, along with a nomination to the 2006 All-MIAA first team. She was part of the only Albion team to win an MIAA Tournament championship, and the team that qualified for NCAA postseason competition. In 2006, she tied school and league records with an astonishing 17 for 17 free throws in one game.
A Women's Basketball Coaches Association scholarship helped Jaime earn her doctorate in cell and developmental biology. Now a research assistant professor with the University of Utah's Huntsman Cancer Institute, Fornetti studies metastatic breast cancer and mentors the next generation of scientists.
In 2017, Fornetti was honored with Albion's Young Alumni Award. Her Athletic Hall of Fame induction makes her just the third Briton to ever receive both honors.
